SÉNÉCHAL-SENEKAL
INTERIORS
Project: Wayne Residence
Santa Barbara, USA
This private commission highlights the seamless fusion of art and design. Initially drawn to earthy tones, the client’s vision shifted when his wife introduced soft greens from their Abstract collection – leading to the selection of Junaid Sénéchal-Senekal’s “Desert Series.” Working remotely, the client provided room photos, wall sizes, and preferences. Junaid and his designer created digital mock-ups to ensure perfect scale and placement. A focal point includes 3D stepped canvases at the entrance, adding depth and visual impact. The result is a refined, emotionally connected collection—each piece enhancing the space it occupies while reflecting the home’s character, rhythm, and the client’s evolving aesthetic vision.

Project: Sonya & Tertius Residence
Sunset Links, South Africa
An Ocean Villa with breath taking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain blends wave-inspired and figurative art with rich African symbolism. This contemporary, minimalist open space was a year-long collaboration between Junaid and the homeowners. Their deep appreciation for figurative art, developed over five years of gallery visits, shaped the artistic vision. Junaid crafted unique artworks tailored for every area of their newly built villa, seamlessly integrating creativity with the spectacular surroundings. The result is a harmonious fusion of nature, culture, and modern design that elevates the home’s atmosphere and aesthetic.
Project: Marisa & Ian Residence
Val de Vie Estate, South Africa
Marisa discovered Junaid Sénéchal-Senekal’s work through a friend’s Abu Dhabi commission and was inspired by his signature silver technique. Without visiting the gallery, she commissioned a bespoke piece for a large, empty wall above the staircase in her Val de Vie Estate home. After reviewing design ideas, Junaid created a custom six-panel artwork spanning eight meters. The chosen colours—orange and turquoise—were selected to complement the home’s entrance, upper level, and entertainment area. This striking composition added harmony, depth, and bold visual presence to an otherwise unused space, completing the couple’s global art collection with a unique, site-specific centrepiece crafted to reflect their personal style.

Project: Spilhaus Residence
Copenhagen, Denmark
The Spilhaus family’s connection with Junaid Sénéchal-Senekal began after receiving a Madiba painting as a gift. Inspired, they travelled to South Africa to meet the artist and purchased a Leopard portrait from his studio. Passionate about wildlife and frequent visitors to South Africa’s national parks, they commissioned a bespoke African animal-themed collection for their Copenhagen home. Junaid crafted site-specific pieces tailored to each space’s scale and atmosphere. Highlights include “The Elephants’ Grandeur” in the double-height entrance and “The Lions”, a four-meter-wide statement in the master bedroom. The result is a refined fusion of African spirit and Scandinavian design, bringing elegance and authenticity to their home.
Project: Orono Residence
Minnesota, USA
Junaid Sénéchal-Senekal was commissioned to create a full-home art collection, tailored to the client’s lifestyle, architecture, and emotional vision. Inspired by the Wayne Residence in Santa Barbara, the client sought a cohesive, museum-level body of work. Junaid travelled to the U.S. to experience the home first hand, drawing from oceanic movement to guide the creative process. Using his signature silver technique and 3D box canvases, he emphasized fluidity, depth, and texture. Each piece was custom-built and placed with functional aesthetics in mind—child-friendly, visually balanced, and seamlessly integrated throughout the home. “The WOW factor was brought to perfection.”
